HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER - CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR - MEATH
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a well-established contractor with a proven track record
in the successful completion of a wide variety of projects.
They are seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their expanding
team to oversee residential construction project sites in
Meath/Kildare/Dublin
The successful candidate will have the ability to work both
independently and within a team, have strong communication skills, and
have strong leadership qualities.

Provide support & advice to colleagues, subcontractor personnel and
other third parties.
Ensure all H&S policies are fully implemented on site.
Check to ensure detailed methodologies are in place to cover all works
and to include risk assessments and method statements.
Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all new
employees, check all relevant training is in place and recorded on
site.
Preparation of site paperwork including Safe Systems of Work, Risk
Assessments, Inductions and Toolbox Talks
Conduct regular inspections as directed in the Safety Management
system.
Ensure all plant and equipment inspections are up to date in
compliance with legal obligations.
Communicate to site management in order to close out issues
Carrying out formal site inspections and audits and conduct regular
reviews on any corrective action identified.
Promote continuous improvement.
Deliver Toolbox talks. Consult with staff on RAMS briefings, lessons
learned from audits or investigations, inform staff on permitting
requirements and any other H&S information requirements.
Compiling, updating and communication of site Emergency Plans
Ensure proper reporting of all accidents, incidents and near misses on
site and assist with the investigation and implementation of
corrective action to close out on same.
Collecting and collating relevant information for inclusion in the
Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the
project.
Provide a proactive approach to problem solving and to the various
aspects of day-to-day health, safety and environmental management.
REQUIREMENTS
A relevant recognised EHS qualification
2+ years *; experience in construction safety
Excellent organisational skills to include report writing and records
maintenance.
Excellent reporting skills and proficiency in Word, Excel and
reporting software
Excellent interpersonal and report writing skills
Extensive knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation
Ability to work well in a team
Flexible to travel to sites based in Meath, Kildare & Dublin
Clean Drivers License
